White Noise Christmas has had a couple of years off recently, while it’s warmer cousin does the business, but we thought it was about time we brought it back – principally because twelve months is too long to wait between awesome weekends.
So, White Noise Christmas 2011 takes place on SUNDAY 18TH DECEMBER with three stages over two venues. A wristband is £5, which gets you in to all three venues, and all proceeds are donated to local charities.
Curated by Maybeshewill and Codex Leicester, White Noise is TOTALLY about bringing the brilliant bands and musicians of the Leicester music scene together for a day or a weekend of loud noise, partying and friendship. We think what people are doing in this city is important and we want people to know about it and appreciate it for what it is.
We’re very pleased to announce the following bands will be gracing the stages, with MANY more to be announced very soon.
THE MONOGRAPH STAGE
(Firebug Downstairs)
HER NAME IS CALLA
Thickly layered post-everything noises from the Leicester/Yorkshire/Manchester collective. White Noise Favourites.
KYTE
The Globe-trotting electronic indie three-piece return to White Noise for their first Leicester show since their fantastically well recieved Leicester Fringe show this summer.
LITTLE NIGHT TERRORS
Spiky indie noise trio in the spirit of Leicester’s most successful exports – exuding confidence, but with an ear for a chorus.
I AM IN LOVE
80′s tinged infectiously danceable pop songs from the amorous five-some. Expect the unexpected.
THE ROBOT NEEDS HOME STAGE
(Firebug Upstairs)
BUENOS AIRES
The only band to have played every single White Noise Festival that we’ve organised, we thought it was about time these veterans got to headline a stage. Awesomely catchy post-hardcore.
HERRA HIDRO
One of the longest running bands in the city, Herra Hidro were the first band Robot Needs Home began working with many moons ago. Brutal riffs and sing along choruses that will eat away at the inside of your mind.
LASER BEAST
A new project from ex or current members of Public Relations Exercise, Cunt Rag and Her Name Is Calla, this will be Laser Beasts first show. Anticipation is the word.
THE EXPOSURE LIVE STAGE
(The Red Tent)
PETER WYETH
Returning after a enforced period of hiatus, we are INCREDIBLY pleased to have Pete Wyeth back to play this years White Noise Festival. Lush loop drenched acoustic brilliance.
THE DAYDREAM CLUB
Delicate duets – lilting piano, acoustic guitar and entrancing male/female vocal harmonies galore.
HUMBLE HE
Folk done totally right. Acoustic guitars, strings and an almost disgusting amount of musical prowess.
ELIZABETH CORNISH
Compelling contemporary folk songs which are simultaneously immensely fragile and totally confident.
